Born from the Nonprofit Trenches
Non-Profit Systems wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built by someone who lived the work — and saw firsthand what was missing.
Meet Lawrence Goshon, Founder
Lawrence's journey into nonprofit technology started in the most unlikely place: as a janitor at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. When an opportunity arose to transition into a database administrator role for HMIS (Homeless Management Information System), Lawrence took the leap — with zero prior database experience.
That first role ignited a deep passion for data systems and their power to drive impact. Lawrence went on to work at the Denver Youth Program, doing hands-on case management and youth services. During those years in the trenches, he saw the same struggles play out across every nonprofit he worked with: scattered spreadsheets, disconnected tools, and staff spending more time on administrative headaches than on their mission.
Determined to fix it, Lawrence began building a solution — first in FileMaker Pro, and eventually from the ground up as a full-featured platform purpose-built for how nonprofits actually work.
The result is Non-Profit Systems: a comprehensive platform born from real experience, designed to eliminate the operational gaps that hold mission-driven organizations back.
